Qin Palace was built in 1997 for director Chen Kaige’s film The Emperor and the Assassin. Inspired by Xianyang Palace, the imperial palace complex of the Qin dynasty, the scenic area features monumental gates, imposing halls and expansive courtyards that convey the grandeur of the Qin Empire. It has served as a filming location for numerous films and television dramas, including Hero, Emperor Han Wu, A Step into the Past, Painted Skin, The Promise and Joy of Life.

Han Street recreates streetscapes inspired by the Qin and Han dynasties, featuring traditional government offices, city gates, shops, residences and courtyards. Its rustic lanes and period architecture complement the monumental scale of Qin Palace, presenting settings associated with both official life and everyday urban activity in ancient China. Together, the two areas provide a varied architectural backdrop for historical films and television dramas.
